Sealing Gaskets and Rings
For Polymer Extrusion and Synthetic Fibre Spinning

Application and Performance
Metallic Gaskets | PTFE Gaskets | Hollow Metal Rings
Technical Selection
Match the seal to the approved equipment drawing and operating duty. The final material, dimensions and construction form part of the agreed project specification.
Metallic Gaskets
Aluminium, Copper and Stainless Steel
Compare the available forms and finishes with the existing pack drawing before specifying a replacement.
Material and Configuration Options
Aluminium

Forms
Circular, rectangular, bowl, semicircular, waist and custom profiles.
Surface Options
Chrome plating or anodising.
Copper / Copper Alloy

Forms
Circular, rectangular, bowl, semicircular, waist and custom profiles.
Surface Options
Chrome or nickel plating.
Stainless Steel

Forms
Circular, rectangular, semicircular, waist and custom profiles.
Surface Options
Specify the required grade and finish in the enquiry.
Dimensional Control
All families can be made to customer dimensions. Submit the approved drawing, including profile, thickness and tolerances.
Replacement Review
For an existing pack, identify the sealing location and current part reference. Include the mating component drawings where available so that the complete interface can be reviewed.
PTFE Gaskets and Metal Sealing Rings
Material and Construction Options
PTFE Gaskets

- Construction
- Unfilled PTFE or grades filled with glass fibre, carbon fibre or graphite.
- Material / Finish
- Confirm the specified compound.
- Geometry
- Customer defined profiles and dimensions.
Hollow Metal Rings

- Construction
- Formed tubing with butt welded, polished ends.
- Material / Finish
- Copper, stainless steel, nickel alloy or Monel; gold, silver or nickel plating options.
- Geometry
- Circular, rectangular or waist shaped; custom dimensions.
Service Compatibility
Review the polymer, chemical exposure, pressure, temperature and equipment design together when selecting a gasket.
Project Specification
Record the complete material specification and sealing interface drawing in the enquiry. Identify the current construction and the reason for replacement or change so that the review starts from a defined equipment basis.
Pressure and temperature limits are project specific and require confirmation for the supplied construction.
Technical Selection
Define the Sealing Interface Before Ordering
Use the following information schedule to prepare a technical enquiry for an existing spin pack or a new assembly.
Equipment and Location
Machine / OEM reference, pack type, sealing location and current part number.
Drawing and Dimensions
Approved drawing and revision; profile, critical diameters, thickness, tolerances and mating interfaces.
Operating Duty
Polymer and grade, throughput per pack, melt temperature and pressure profile.
Existing Seal
Current material, coating or finish, service history and photographs of the removed component.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning practice, change cycle and condition of the seating surfaces.
Required Outcome
Reason for replacement, leakage or bypass observations, and the performance change sought.
Supply Requirement
Trial quantity, expected annual consumption, required delivery and documentation.
Drawing and Sample Review
Where a verified sample is supplied, link it to the equipment and drawing reference. Identify critical dimensions and approval requirements before confirming production.
Design Authority
The approved drawing, agreed material specification and validated process limits govern the supplied construction. Review a proposed change to the gasket together with its mating components and assembly requirements.
Dimensional Fit
Seal dimensions and profiles matched to the mating components.
Process Compatibility
Materials selected for the operating temperature, pressure and polymer.
Technical Support
Help identifying suitable gaskets, rings and sealing arrangements.
